Hot Pink Lemonade – Janae Shearer

1 cup water

2 cups white sugar

2 1/4 cups fresh lemon juice

7 cups cool water

2 cups ice

3/4 cup blueberries

Boil one cup of water with the sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until the liquid becomes clear. Add blueberries cook until they get hot pink.  Smash if desired.  Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.  Pour 7 cups of cool water and ice into a serving pitcher.  Add lemon blueberry syrup; stir.  Chill.

Strawberry Lemonade – Janae Shearer

1 3/4 cups white sugar

8 cups water

1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice

1 cup smashed strawberries

In a saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water.  Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar.  Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.

Remove the seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp.  In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice, remaining 7 cups of water and strawberries.
